About

Kaylee’s work is grounded in environmental thought and looks to understand the interconnection between humans and the Earth. Her work investigates system of oppression, exploitation and resulting trauma by examining the ways these processes reflect in the human form and in the landscape. Utilizing mixed-media techniques she critiques the contemporary US cultural climate that is violent and unsustainable in hopes to startle, shock and move viewers towards a shift in paradigm. And, subsequently, how methods of process-driven art can bring healing and meaning to the maker.

After graduating college with a B.S. in Environmental studies with minors in art and sociology in 2018, she has spent time working on a commercial sized apple orchard and an organic farm, both in southeastern Pennsylvania. She worked as a Community Ambassador and Event Manager at the Goggleworks Center for the Arts in Reading, PA. Kaylee’s teaching began by serving through Americorps as a K- 12 mentor for social and emotional learning at Weatherly Area School District. She is currently pursuing her masters in Art Education at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. She is also the art director of the environmental journal, Alluvian.
